Hi there! First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for stopping by “Little Yarn Friends”. I’m Rachel, living in a sunny island called Singapore. I love Arts & Crafts ever since I was a kid. I find enjoyment in all kinds of handmade crafts, from Scrapbooking, making DIY cards, beading, cross-stitching, sewing and the list goes on. I never knew what “Crocheting” was until recently (in September 2011) when I saw my colleague crocheted a scarf for her Mother. Click “Here” to read about my 1st blog post where I shared how I started my crochet journey and my 1st Crochet Project. From then on, I’m hooked to this Amazing Hobby! I called the “Crochet hook” my Magic Wand because it transforms simple ball of yarn to cute little yarn friends! (Also known as Amigurumi)
Amigurumi: is the Japanese art of knitting and crocheting small stuffed animals.
I picked up my crochet skills from the Internet. Thanks to all the talented crochet artists from different parts of the world that are so generous and willing to share what they know. I started making amigurumis with the help of crochet books and free patterns that I found online. As I got the hang of some basic stitches and how to read crochet patterns, I took the leap of faith and started creating my very own “Little Yarn Friends” Creations and share my Crochet Patterns ”Here” for FREE.
Each individual creation starts from a random thought, inspirations from the things around me or a request from a friend. Crocheting and crafting soon became an essential part of my life as I realised how much I love creating and making these ideas come alive! I also realised how therapeutic and relaxing it is.
The purpose of this blog is to share the love for Crafts, mainly Amigurumis and also for me to document my progress. Feel free to drop me a comment, an e-mail or share your projects and stories anytime. YOU are the one that make this journey a meaningful one.
Doing small things with great love - I really hope “Little Yarn Friends” will eventually be a place for me (and you) to share, love, impact and bless others in one way or another.
