Crochet Pattern: Lil’ Bunny Cupcake

This is “Little yarn friends” very 1st Amigurumi Creation and I would love to share this Cutie to anyone who is interested in making one for yourself to keep or to make it as a gift for your loved ones. This is my first time writing a pattern and I apologize in advance if it’s unclear. Please feel free to ask questions to clarify any doubts. Comments are welcome too. Are you ready? Let’s begin.

Materials:

Yarn(s) - I used White, Pink and Light Green 8ply Acrylic Yarn.
Crochet Hook - Size 3.5mm.
Yarn Needle or Normal Needle
Pink Thread or Yarn for nose.
Fiberfill
2 of 8mm Safety Eyes
Stitch Marker or Safety Pin

Note: This pattern works in continuous rounds (instead of joined rounds).

Abbreviation:

MR - Magic Ring
sc - Single Crochet
hdc - Half Double Crochet
dc - Double Crochet
2 sc in next sc - Increase
dec 1 - Decrease
* * - Repeat Step
F/O - Fasten Off

Cake:

I used Light Green Yarn.

Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (12)

Rnd 3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times around. (18)

Rnd 4: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times around. (24)

Rnd 5: *sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times around. (30)

Rnd 6: *sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times around. (36)

Rnd 7-11: sc around. (36)

Rnd 12: *sc 5, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times around. (42)

Rnd 13: sc around. (42)

Slip Stitch, F/O and weave in the end.

Frosting:

I used Pink Yarn.

Rnd 1-5: Same as Cake pattern (refer to top).

Rnd 6: sc around. (30)

Rnd 7: *sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times around. (36)

Rnd 8: *2 sc in next sc, sc 5*, repeat 6 times around. (42)

Rnd 9: *2 sc in next sc, sc 6*, repeat 6 times around. (48)

Rnd 10: *sc 1, (hdc,dc,hdc) on same stitch, sc 1 on next sc* repeat around.

Slip Stitch, F/O and weave in the end.

Bunny Head:

I used White Yarn.

Rnd 1-6: Same as Cake pattern (refer to top).

Rnd 7-12: sc around. (36)

Rnd 13: *sc 4, dec 1*, repeat around. (30)

Rnd 14: *sc 3, dec 1*, repeat around. (24)

Stuff firmly.

Rnd 15: *sc 2, dec 1*, repeat around. (18)

Rnd 16: *sc 1, dec 1*, repeat around. (12)

Add on fiberfill to stuff the entire head.

Rnd 17: *sc 1, dec 1*, repeat around.

F/O and leave long end for sewing to Frosting.

Bunny Ear(s): Make 2

I used White Yarn.

Rnd 1: MR, sc 3 in MR. (3)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (6)

Rnd 3: sc around. (6)

Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc 1*, repeat 3 times around. (9)

Rnd 5-10: sc around. (9)

Slip Stitch, F/O and leave long end for sewing to Bunny Head.

Do not need stuffing.

Bunny Arms: Make 2

I used White Yarn.

Rnd 1: MR, sc 4 in MR. (4)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (8)

Rnd 3-4: sc around. (8)

Slip Stitch, F/O and leave long end for sewing to Bunny Head.

Need stuffing.

Assembling: (Refer to picture)

Sew the Bunny Ears to Top of Bunny Head.
Attach Safety Eyes on Bunny Head.
Use pink thread / Yarn to sew the Bunny Nose or cut out Felt.
Sew the Bunny Arms to the side of the Bunny Head.
Sew the Bunny to the Frosting.
Sew 3/4 of the Cake to Frosting, stuff firmly and sew the rest.
Add on your own accessories to your bunny (e.g. Ribbon, Flower)

And Congratulations, your Lil’ Bunny Cupcake is complete!
