GSS is almost coming to an end. For all my overseas friends, GSS stands for Great Singapore Sale. Everyone loves SALE! GSS happens twice every year, one in the middle of the year and one at the end of the year. You can see big sale banners in every shopping malls and in almost every shop. Singapore is well-known for our great variety of delicious food as well as the SHOPPING. It’s shopper’s paradise especially GSS is still on.

I love shopping! However, the only thing I bought was this handmade backpack from littleoddforest. It’s not on sale, but I just couldn’t resist the cuteness of this bag.

Tadaa! This is the bag that I bought. It comes in many other colors. I had a hard time choosing which color way I want to buy because I like all of them. But I finally chose this color way because I the combination of these 2 colors are unique and also it will not get dirty easily. I have been eyeing on this wanderlust fox backpack ever since I saw the pre-launch pictures on littleoddforest’s Facebook page. It was finally released on the first week of June and I placed my order on the very day it was released. Lynda, the woman behind littleoddforest is really talented, amazing and friendly. Everything in her online shop is designed by her. From the ideas, production, web design, photo shoot etc. What I like most about her shop is that all the products are 100% handmade with love, by her and a few other dedicated helpers.

All I can say is I love every single thing about this bag. It’s made of really good quality fabric, many compartments including laptop and iPad compartments. I feel so happy carrying my new bag around. I’ve learn to appreciate handmade items even more ever since I started crocheting and I’m a really big fan of littleoddforest. I don’t mind paying a little bit more for good quality and unique handmade products than to buy mass manufactured goods. I had an idea of crocheting a mini fox pillow keychain to hang it on my new backpack. But I figured that making a fox handphone pouch would be a better idea since I needed a new handphone pouch anyway. The Lil’ Fox Handphone Pouch is made of 8ply Acrylic maroon and grey yarn with a 3.0mm crochet hook. I tried to make the handphone pouch as similar as possible to my backpack because a matching handphone pouch would be really cute. :)

This is how I did the pouch:

I used chain, single crochet, slip stitch and decreases to make the pouch. Then i cut out black and white stripe fabric and sewed on as the lining for my pouch. I am still not very good at using my sewing machine so the stitches are not very neat.
